Barrington Hills House Destroyed By Early Morning Fire

A house in Warsaw’s Barrington Hills subdivision was a total loss from a fire early this morning.
Warsaw Fire Department responded to the home of Kirk and Celise Beckham and their three daughters at 863 Barrington Place, Warsaw, at 2:45 a.m. today. According to Fire Chief Mike Wilson, neighbor Heidi Miller was walking her dog when she noticed the back deck of the Beckham’s home was on fire.

She and her husband, Matt, called the Beckhams and beat on their front door to notify them of the danger. The Millers also called 911.
All five members of the family exited the home without any injuries. Wilson said that the fire was put out by 4 a.m. and that emergency crews left the scene by 6 a.m. The house was appraised for $255,900 before being totaled, according to Kosciusko County records.
On scene were Warsaw Wayne, Plain Township, Winona Lake, Milford, Pierceton, North Webster and Claypool fire departments. American Red Cross and Lutheran EMS were present to care for the victims and emergency personnel.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated. According to Wilson, the deck had just recently been built.
A small insulation fire rekindled and was subsequently extinguished at 8:40 a.m. today while responders were searching for the family’s personal effects.
