Warsaw Community School Board of Trustees member Jay Baumgartner received an award for his service to the Indiana School Boards Association during Monday night’s board meeting.
The Certification Awards Program began in 1992 to recognize officially seated board members for their dedication to continuous improvement, especially through attendance at ISBA-sponsored conferences, seminars and retreats.
Board members can earn four different level distinctions, levels 1 through 4, and Baumgartner is level 1.
He received the award for attending continuing education programs. Jennifer Tandy, school board president, presented Baumgartner with a pin for his service during Monday’s meeting.
“We appreciate his time and devotion,” Tandy said.
In other business, Superintendent Dr. David Hoffert said registration for school is now available on the school’s website.
Registration dates are July 28 from 1 to 7 p.m., and July 29 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all schools.
He also said new teacher orientation has begun. The first staff day is Aug. 12, and the first student day is Aug. 15.
