Elhart County Police issued a warning about a new scam on Friday. They say a victim received a call, saying that he had won money and a car from Publisher's Clearing House. He was given a phone number to call to arrange delivery for the car, but then he was told he would have to pay the taxes on the car before they would drop it off. That was when the victim realized it was a scam, and alerted police. In this instance, the call came from an 876 area code. Police say that in instances such as this, if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Also, a tell tale warning sign is any situation where you are required to pay for a prize that you have won. If you receive a call like this one, you should hang up and immediately contact police.
