Black Lives Matters is calling on South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg to resign.
The group says Buttigieg is “complicit in the violence perpetrated against black persons “because he hasn’t held himself, the chief of police, or the board of public safety accountable.”
This is in the wake of the death of car break-in suspect Eric Logan.
The group had previously called on Chief Scott Ruszkowski to resign. One protestor said the call for Buttigieg to step down is happening now because the mayor “is covering the incident up,” and not taking the situation seriously.
