The BMV is extending hours so people can get state ID cards and driver's licenses for use at polling places for the May 6th primary election. The branches will be open from 8:30 – 8 today and from 6 – 6 tomorrow. Officials say to ensure voters have immediate access to services, license branches will only process ID cards, driver's licenses and learner's permits. Driver's tests will not be given. The BMV provides free, state-issued ID cards for voting purposes to any unlicensed Indiana resident as long as he or she can provide proper documentation. License branches will resume normal business hours and operations on Wednesday.
