The Boomerang Backpack program is expanding to Whitko students.
Whitko Community Schools nurse Stephanie Meyer tells the Times Union that middle school and high school students at Whitko and students at South Whitley Elementary school will be eligible after their parents or guardians fill out and send in a registration letter.
Boomerang Backpacks is a local, nonprofit organization who helps provide food on weekends for needy families.
