WINONA LAKE – A time and date has been set for a Republican caucus to fill the vacancy on the Winona Lake Town Board.
Denny Duncan, who represented Ward 2 on the Town Board, was elected to the Warsaw Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees in the Nov. 8 election. He can not serve in both elected positions at the same time.
The caucus will be in the Winona Lake Council Chambers, 1310 Park Ave., Winona Lake, at 6 p.m. Dec. 13, according to a notice from Kosciusko County Republican Party Central Committee Chairman Mike Ragan.
Candidates must reside in Ward 2 of Winona Lake and be a good Republican in good standing.
Declarations of candidacy are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw, and must be filed with Ragan no later than 72 hours prior to the beginning of the caucus. Ragan’s phone number is 574-265-1430 and his email is mragan@sprintmail.com.
Eligible candidates will be allowed a maximum of three minutes to address the voting caucus.
Eligible members of the caucus are the Republican precinct committee members of Winona Lake who have served continuously from 30 days prior to the start of the caucus.
The Ward 2 Council member will be elected by secret ballot by the majority of members of the voting caucus.
