Combined Community Services will be hosting an event in two weeks that will focus on heat for those in need.
The Winter Warmth Sleepout will be held Friday, October 18th, and it is to raise awareness for the need of utility assistance in Kosciusko County, as well as to raise funds to help keep families warm over the coming winter months. There will be activities from 6 to 9 PM, along with a Youth Group Challenge, which will be to see what youth group raises the most money and who wins the most activity challenges.
In 2018, CCS assisted families 242 times with crisis utility situations, which a majority of the time was an upcoming disconnection date. Families are eligible to request assistance once in a twelve month period when they have a disconnect notice or are in danger of going without utilities.
