A Fort Wayne radio icon was honored on the floor of the U.S. House Tuesday.
Indiana Congressman Jim Banks took a minute to honor WOWO legend Charly Butcher, who passed away last month at the age of 61:
Today I had the opportunity to honor the life of northeast Indiana broadcasting icon Charly Butcher, whose ability to speak directly through the radio and into the home or car of each listener was unparalleled. Rest in peace, Charly. pic.twitter.com/knU2Xfw32b

Banks had earlier said he saw being interviewed by Butcher, whom he’d listened to for years before becoming a Congressman, as an “honor”.
