Claypool man arrested for making girl fondle him

Warsaw police arrested a man Tuesday for inappropriately touching a young girl.

Jonathen Raven Lovelace, 23, of Claypool, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on a single child molesting charge, a level 4 felony.

According to the affidavit of probable cause from the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office, on Monday, Oct. 31, a Warsaw police officer was a called to the home of the victim.

The victim’s mother told police on Oct. 27, Lovelace was visiting at their home and was playing with her minor daughter.  She observed Lovelace and her daughter under the girl’s bed and told them to get out from under the bed. After Lovelace left the residence, the victim told her mother Lovelace put her hand on his private parts.

A Child Protective Services caseworker spoke with the victim who told her she and Lovelace were playing a game under her bed called “beautiful girls and handsome boys.”  At that time, Lovelace allegedly pulled down his pants and placed the girl’s hand inside. Lovelace told the girl not to tell her mother and to keep it a secret, because they would both get in trouble.

Police spoke with Lovelace who admitted to playing fantasy games with the girl under the bed.

Lovelace was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail Nov. 1. His bond was initially set at $15,250 then raised to $50,250.
