Kosciusko County GOP Chairman Mike Ragan will be appointing someone to fill the vacancy on the Claypool Township Board.
The seat became open when Republican member Larry Neher passed away recently.
A replacement will serve the remainder of Neher’s term, until the end of 2019.
Those interested in applying must live in Claypool, be a Republican in good standing, and must not have a felony in their history.
An appointment will be announced by Ragan on April 4 as there are fewer than two precinct committeemen eligible to participate in a caucus. Ragan says he will consult the one Clay Township Republican Precinct Committeeman before announcing the appointment.
Those declaring candidacy for the Claypool Town Board must do so no later than April 1 at 2:30 p.m.
Declarations of Candidacy and Statements of Economic Interests are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court in Warsaw.
