A Claypool woman was airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne Wednesday after striking a utility pole and then a tree. According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department crash report, a vehicle driven by Alana L. Gonzales, 34, West Ben Lane, Claypool, was traveling east on West CR 900S near the intersection of CR 750W in Burket just before 8 p.m. when it traveled off the south side of the road and struck a utility pole. Gonzles then reentered the roadway and over corrected, traveling off the roadway again and then striking a tree. Gonzales was airlifted to Parkview to be treated for internal injuries. Damage was estimated between $2,500 to $5,000.
