WARSAW — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kosciusko County has seen the number of matches grow by more than 100 in the past two years — and that’s fueled the need for a new fundraiser.
Organizers hope to generate new money through a comedy night called Laugh for Kids’ Sake: a Big Brothers Big Sisters Comedy Fundraiser happening Friday night at the Owl’s Nest in North Webster.
“In 2022, we added 58 new matches and in 2023 we added 46 new matches,” said Tammy Smith, director of development.
The money would be used for administrative services.
“We provide case management for the Bigs and the families and the Littles to make sure everything is going good,” Smith said. “We are up to 130 matches locally in Kosciusko County.”
The comedy show idea was pitched by Amanda Sauter, a local comedian who also happens to be a Big Sister.
Featured comics include Jacob Readdy, Bailey Hostetler, Corey Mann, Carl Dean, Sean Shank, Colton Cole and Sautter.
The comedy show is intended for adults. Doors open at 7 and the show starts at 8.
The night includes lots of appetizers, a cash bar, a wine and bourbon pull and a 50/50 drawing.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online or at the door.
