Representative Jim Banks has introduced a pair of bills designed to increase VA oversight and honor deceased veterans.
The Indiana Congressman introduced the bills in Washington in the hopes of making a strong push for change at the VA.
One resolution would require the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit a report to Congress on areas of concern in a more timely manner.
The other would allow the Secretary to transport unclaimed veterans’ remains to specific state or tribal cemeteries in addition to national cemeteries.
