Embattled South Bend Councilman Henry Davis Jr. has announced he is taking a temporary leave of absence to focus on his health. This, more than a week after his arrest for Operating While Intoxicated. Police pulled him over on the US 20 bypass after he was reportedly driving in the wrong direction. He was arrested after failing several field sobriety tests. In his letter addressed to Council President Oliver Davis announcing his leave, he said his attorney has advised him not to make a statement regarding the arrest.
