Criminal proceedings against two men arrested during the synthetic drug convenience store raids have come to a standstill after the defendants were deported. 48 year-old Peter Fernandes and 22 year-old Sukhjinder Singh were deported to India last month. The deportations apparently caught prosecutors by surprise, though The Elkhart Truth reports local authorities have the option to have the men extradited back to the United States to face their charges.
