David L. Whaley, 82, passed away on December 13, 2021, at Physicians Regional Hospital in Naples, Florida. He was born in Kentland, Indiana in 1939. He was married to Judy Ford, August 20, 1961.
Dave earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education at Indiana State University and his Master’s Degree from Indiana University. He started his teaching career teaching fifth grade in Bloomington, IN for four years. He moved into administration as Principle for four years in Walkerton, IN and in 1969 he served as the Business Manager in Rensselaer, IN. In 1970 he was hired as Curriculum Coordinator in the Warsaw Community School Corporation. In 1971 he became the Principal of Leesburg Elementary School for a few years. He then moved to Lincoln Elementary School where he was the Principal until he retired in 1996.
Dave especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Golfing, fishing and travel were his favorite activities. Dave and Judy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August of this year.
Dave leaves behind his wife, Judy, a son Brad (Darlene) Whaley, and daughter Kim (Doug) Jennings. Dave had four grandchildren, Mandy (Derrick) Duncan, Jeff Bredemeyer, Morgan (DJ) Fouce, and Michael Jennings. Three greatgrandchildren, Bryce Duncan, Brody Duncan, and Raydn Fouce.
Dave will be missed by many past students, teachers, friends, and especially family. A Celebration of Life will be held at McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw in May 2022.
