While attending the fall workshop of the Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, Debra Collier’s School of Dance student Hayley Shepherd caught the attention of master teacher and #TapLife Artistic Director Anthony Lo Cascio.
Collier’s recently received notification that Lo Cascio awarded Shepherd with a Resonance Scholarship to attend a three-day tap workshop of classes and performances. She will travel to Washington, D.C., in March to attend the workshop with master teachers from around the country.
Hayley, daughter of Eli and Alissha Shepherd, Warsaw, has been a student at Collier’s for seven years and is a member of the studio’s competitive and performance company, Class Act Dance Troupe.
“We are so proud of Hayley. To be recognized and rewarded by such a prestigious teacher is quite an accomplishment,” said Debra Collier, studio owner.
“She is a dedicated young lady that has a great passion for dance. We always encourage our students to take every opportunity to further their education and enhance their knowledge. To have the opportunity to study with the faculty of Resonance will be a great experience.”
