The final report on the 2016 deer hunting season is out. According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, 119,477 deer were harvested by hunters last fall–that’s about 5,000 less than the year before and the fewest since 2003.
Noble County had the second-most harvested deer in the state with 2,714. They say more hunters used high-powered rifles last fall thanks to a new law that made it legal.
