DNR Puts Muskie Into Backwater and Webster Lakes

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has done its part to help fisherman in Northern Indiana. More than 2-thousand Muskie fingerlings were released into Webster Lake and Backwater Lake last week by DNR Biologist Jed Pearson. Pearson says they are stocking Webster differently this year, putting in 2,300 Muskies last Wednesday and planning to add another 1,500 to the lake in the spring in hopes of improving their survival rate. Pearson says adding the giant sport fish to area lakes has been an economic windfall to us, with the $50,000 invested in hatcheries turning into over $450,000 dollars a year in revenue.
