It was called in as an armed disturbance on Sunday night, but less that 24 hours later, Metro Homicide investigators releaved details about the city's first homicide cases of the year. Police say the suspect, Roy Lee Walker, faces two counts of murder, an attempted murder charge and one charge of residential entry. The deadly shootings happened early Sunday night, at an apartment building in the 200 block of East Calvert Street.
Metro Homicide Lieutenant Tim Corbett says were originally called to the area on the report of a naked man armed with a gun. Once there, the found the bodies of 46 year-old Robert Duke and 43 year-old Michelle Blankenship. Walker is also said to have threatened the life of another neighbor, but his gun failed to fire. Police caught up to him within a half-hour. One of the officer suffered a serious cut to the hand. Another suffered a leg injury which happened during a fall.
