On Saturday, September 27th, if you have expired or unwanted prescription drugs, you can drop them off in the parking lot of the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department. The Drug Take Back event will run from 10 – 2. Over the last four years, Take Back Days have led to more than 780-thousand pounds of pills being safely disposed of at six-thousand collection sites across the country. According to the 2012 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, almost twice as many Americans abuse prescription drugs than the number of those abusing cocaine, hallucinogens, heroin and inhalants combined. And, most studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends.
