WARSAW — Municipal election season in Indiana kicks off on Wednesday with the start of the candidate filing period.
Elections will be held in Warsaw, Winona Lake, Syracuse and eight other smaller towns — Claypool, Etna Green, Leesburg, Mentone, North Webster, Pierceton, Sidney and Silver Lake.
The filing period ends on Feb. 3 in Warsaw, Winona Lake and Syracuse.
In the eight smaller towns, the filing period continues until Aug. 1.
In Warsaw, the offices of mayor, clerk-treasurer, and all seven council seats will be up for election.
Winona Lake will have the offices of clerk-treasurer and town council districts 1, 2, and 4 seats up for election.
In Syracuse, races include clerk-treasurer and council districts 3, 4 and 5
In eight smaller towns, the offices of clerk-treasurer and three council seats are up for election. If there are no contested filings for open positions, there will not be a primary.
