Emily Jean Renner, longtime resident of San Antonio, Texas, passed away at Comfort Home Senior Care in San Antonio on February 20, 2023. She was 86 years old.
Jean, as many knew her, was born in Greenfield, OH on September 12, 1936. Her parents were Russell Vester and Geneva (Case) Metzler. Her step-father, Norm Metzler was a large part of helping to raise Jean; all three have preceded her in passing.
Jean moved to Texas in the late 1970s. She worked as a secretary and in clerical functions, retiring from Texas Dept. of Transportation.
Jean loved to travel and was always a fan of warm climates. She also enjoyed cooking, tending to her flower gardens and loved animals – especially cats. She was a fan of Jazz Music, having attended many Jazz festivals and concerts.
Those who survive with memories to cherish include two children: Richard Rybacki (wife, Sandy Nguyen) of San Antonio and daughter, Terri Jauer of Syracuse, IN; four grandchildren: Shane & Dylan Rybacki and Samantha & Cailan Jauer. She is also survived by two half-sisters, Janet and Carol.
Titus Funeral Home of Syracuse is entrusted with Jean’s care. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 2 p.m. in South Union Cemetery, 30663 Co Road 50, Nappanee, IN.
