Basic Emergency Medical Technician class in North Webster starts in the evening Oct. 6, with Advanced EMT class starting Oct. 9. EMT Basic is the minimum level of training for all ambulance personnel. Basic EMTs will learn the essential skills to help in life-threatening situations like car accidents, gun shots, child birth, accidental poisonings, heart attacks and broken limbs. EMTs must be prepared for and skilled in providing immediate care. Upon successful completion of the EMT course, students will be eligible to take the Indiana State EMS psychomotor examination and cognitive exam to gain their Indiana Basic EMT certification.
