An Etna Green man is facing child molesting charges after he allegedly was high on drugs and inappropriately touched a young girl.
Michael David Bollenbacher, 33, of 130 E. Broadway St., Etna Green, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:02 a.m. Thursday and faces a Level 4 felony child molesting charge; and a Level 6 felony neglect of a dependent charge.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Nov. 19 in Kosciusko Superior Court I, on Aug. 19 investigators received a complaint of child molesting that occurred in July.
A forensic interview with the child revealed that sometime between late July to early August, Bollenbacher got into bed with the child while she was sleeping in his bed. The child told police that she sleeps in that bed and that Bollenbacher sleeps on the couch.
The child told police Bollenbacher began kissing her neck then placed his hand down her pants underneath her underwear.
The following morning, according to the affidavit, Bollenbacher apologized to the child, she said, and blamed it on being “messed up.” The child told police that she understood the saying “messed up” as to mean Bollenbacher was using methamphetamine.
When police spoke with Bollenbacher, according to court papers, he admitted to getting into the bed with the child and said he may have kissed her touch and touched her stomach and leg. Bollenbacher further told police that he was under the influence of drugs at the time and believed he was in bed with his wife.
A drug test administered by the Department of Child Services showed results of methamphetamine, amphetamine and THC in Bollenbacher’s system, according to the affidavit.
His bond was set at $20,250, and a no-contact order was put in place.
