Ford is recalling nearly 1.4 million vehicles after reports of the steering wheel detaching from the steering column, according to Nasdaq.
Ford says the steering wheel bolts can loosen over time.
The recall involves 2014-2018 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles, with 1.3 million in the U.S., 62,479 in Canada, and 14,172 in Mexico.
Ford reports two separate incidents of the steering wheel becoming loose, one report involved an injury.
Dealers plan to replace steering wheel bolts with longer ones that have more aggressive threads and a nylon patch, which should stop them from coming loose.
