A former Angola mayor has died. John McBride passed away yesterday at age 89 after suffering a stroke over the weekend. He was the city's mayor from 1966 to 1975, and later worked at Trine University as their alumni director and historian for 27 years. Current Angola Mayor Dick Hickman says McBride was a positive fixture who was always upbeat about the community.
