The former College Football Hall of Fame building in South Bend has been sold.
The South Bend Redevelopment Commission finalized a deal Thursday to sell the long-vacant property for $525,000 to JSK Development’s Southhold company.
The building at Washington and St. Joseph Streets has been vacant since the Hall of Fame moved to Atlanta in 2012. Many ideas for using the building have come and gone, including one by JSK to incorporate it into the Courtyard by Marriott nearby.
The South Bend Tribune reports the company agreed to buy the building after the city lowered the price from the original $1.2 million it was asking and absolves the city of South Bend of any responsibility for the building completely.
