Former Notre Dame wide receiver Kevin Stepherson was arrested in Whitley County for possession of marijuana, according to the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office who spoke to WNDU-TV.
The arrest took place late Friday evening, Jan. 26.
Stepherson bonded out of jail by late Saturday morning, according to the original report from Irish Sports Daily.
Stepherson was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, visiting a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.
Stepherson was suspended from the Notre Dame football program in December, following multiple run-ins with the law, including an arrest for an attempted shoplifiting at University Park Mall. His dismissal from the football team was announced earlier this month.
Stepherson, a junior, caught 19 passes for 359 yards and five touchdowns this season. He was held out of the first several games of 2017.
At the time of his December run-ins, Stepherson was on probation as part of a plea agreement following an August 2016 arrest in Fulton County for marijuana possession with four teammates.
