A former Notre Dame football player has pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal.
Under the agreement, Max Redfield pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession of a handgun without a license and possession of marijuana, according to ABC 57.
Under terms of the new plea deal, Redfield’s attorney asked for no jail time and an increase on probation. The judge will decide on whether to accept the plea deal on March 21, according to WNDU.
Redfield was dismissed from the football team a day after being arrested with four others in August.
The five were arrested Aug. 19 after their car was stopped for speeding and an improper taillight. Police say they found two bags of marijuana.
Aston White and Dexter Williams, two of the five arrested, have entered programs to get their marijuana convictions dismissed if they complete the program.
Redfield had a plea deal in place in January, but failed a drug screening before sentencing. Since then, he has been rehabbing near his hometown in California. He goes to treatment three times a week and is tested twice a week for drugs, according to WNDU.
