Former Whitley County auditor, 44-year-old Jenny McGuire of Columbia City, was charged Monday with three felonies related to allegations she used county funds for personal use. According to the Journal Gazette, McGuire faces two counts of theft and one count of official misconduct after an investigation involving some misappropriation of funds. At the end of the investigation, the state police documented $103,762 in county funds used for McGuire's personal use, according to the police report. McGuire stepped down as auditor in August, but remains on the ballot as the only candidate in Tuesday's election. As such, she will have to resign again after January 1st.
