An Indiana Senate bill authored by a Fort Wayne Senator that deals with aborted fetuses is now the law of the land.
Governor Mike Pence signed Senate Enrolled Act 329 into law Monday. It requires the Indiana State Department of Heath to adopt rules that regulate the disposal methods of aborted remains by health-care facilities.
It also provides women who have an abortion with the same option as those who have a miscarriage when deciding whether to either bury or cremate their baby.
Fort Wayne Senator Liz Brown was an author of the bill and notes that the bill also requires the ISDH to develop informational forms to help pregnant women understand their options under this law.
