WARSAW — Kosciusko County Community Foundation has announced plans for a new housing program aimed at helping low- to moderate-income households achieve home ownership.

The foundation announced it had secured a $2 million grant and will work with Intend Indiana on the program.

A public meeting on the topic is set for 11 a.m. Friday at the Kosciusko County Courthouse.

Grant money for the program came from Lilly Endowment.

The program will offer flexible financing, creating equitable and affordable housing opportunities for underserved people and communities.

Foundation CEO Stephanie Overbey said access to housing has been an issue they have been addressing for the last four years.

The meeting is directed toward the real estate community and mortgage lenders who can shepherd people through the process, but anyone can attend.

Overbey said she thinks the program could assist up to 20 households.

Intend Indiana, Inc. (Intend) is a nonprofit that connects people to opportunity and advances collaborative community development through equitable financing and housing solutions. Incorporated in 1987 to serve the near northside neighborhoods of Indianapolis, Intend has grown to provide community solutions across the state.
