Frances “Jackie” Long, 80, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in her residence.
Born on March 2, 1941, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jackie was the daughter of Theodore and Luella (Frances) Hawk. She was united in marriage to Jerry Long on December 29, 1959, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Jackie was the former business owner of Le Gourmet Chocolate Shoppe in Warsaw from 1992 to 2012. Her memberships included D.A.R., Colonel Augustin de la Balme Chapter, and she was a former Pre School Teacher of Cresent Ave. Methodist Church. She also held memberships with China Painters Club-Fort Wayne, 1st Presbyterian Church-Fort Wayne and was a choir member for 20 years.
Jackie was passionate about her ownership of the Chocolate Shoppe and the many friendships she developed over the years with her clientele, as well as the many Tea Parties she hosted in her Victorian home over the years.
Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 62 years, Jerry Long, Warsaw; daughter, Julia Chapman, Fort Wayne; siblings Electa Jane Hawk, Loveland , CO and JoAnn Espich, Fort Wayne; 3 grandchildren, Dominic Chapman, Austin Chapman and Grant McComb. She was preceded in passing by a son, William S. Long.
A visitation is planned from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday February 7, 2022 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A funeral service in celebration of her life will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 8, 2022 in the funeral chapel. Chaplain Bob Jarboe will be officiating.
