Fundraiser For Boy With Cancer

A 5-year-old Elkhart boy is undergoing chemotherapy treatments for brain cancer, and an upcoming benefit is planned to help his family cover some of the expenses. Adler Carris was diagnosed with pediatric brain cancer in June, a month after he was diagnosed with another condition where there is too much liquid in the brain. Doctors won’t operate on the tumors in his brain and spine because they’re too close to his vital organs, but doctors hope chemotherapy will help shrink them. The Assemble for Adler benefit starts at 4 o'clock, Saturday, at Nagy Hall on Industrial Parkway in Elkhart. High Gravity will perform during the benefit and several of Adler’s favorite items will be part of the silent auction. Tickets can be bought at Fix Salon and Spa in downtown Elkhart andBuyMeToys.com in Mishawaka. A $10 donation is requested per ticket and children under 5 can attend for free.
