More jobs are coming to Western Indiana as GE Aviation prepares to land in Lafayette. GE Aviation has set their sights on January to begin production at their new Lafayette factory. The plant manager says construction is complete on the new facility and in the coming months they will install the equipment to begin production in January. The first employees have been training for six months on the new LEAP engine that is expected to be more fuel efficient. The 100 million dollar factory in the Lafayette industrial park was first announced in March of 2014 and the company expects to have 200 workers by 2018, based on production demands.
