Girl Scouts Collect Over 100 Pounds of Halloween Leftover Candy for Charity

A local Girl Scout troop looking to earn their Silver Award, the highest award that a Girl Scout Cadette can earn, collected over 100 pounds of leftover Halloween candy during a collection drive in November.

Troop 10380 set up boxes at a dozen area businesses for people to drop off their leftover candy and that candy, which totaled around 130 pounds, went to several area locations to have an extra treat for the holidays, including Baker Youth Club, Fellowship Missions and God’s Highway to Heaven Food Pantry.

The drive went from the first to the eighth of November. The troop wishes to thank the Warsaw community for their donations to the drive and to those businesses that participated by having a donation box set up in their respective locations.
