WARSAW — Kosciusko County Republicans have announced when they will fill the vacancy created following the unexpected death of County Councilman Mike Long.

GOP chairman Mike Ragan said a caucus will convene at 6 p.m. on March 19 at the county courthouse with precinct committeemen and women who reside in Kosciusko County Council District 2 making the decision via a secret ballot.

Declarations of candidacy can be picked up at the county clerk’s office in the Justice Building and should be submitted to Ragan by March 16.

Long died as a result of an accidental drowning on Feb. 27.
