Legal gun owners now can take their firearms with them to school parking lots in Indiana. Governor Mike Pence on Wednesday signed a bill to allow guns as long as they are locked in a vehicle and hidden from sight. Students are not allowed to leave guns in their cars unless they are members of a shooting club and have school permission. Supporters say revising the law will protect parents, who unknowingly were committing a felony by bringing their guns with them to pick up their children. Opponents argue easing gun restrictions around schools is dangerous and could make it easier for assailants to commit school shootings.
