Warsaw school officials have broken ground on the new artificial surface at the varsity football field. A ceremony was held this afternoon to begin the task of replacing the grass playing surface with a carpeted field filled with a layer of tiny rubber pellets. The “field turf” was made possible through a gift from Kosciusko Community Hospital, and should be in place by the time the football season starts in August. The artificial surface will also allow PE classes and other students at the high school to use the facility without fear of damaging it.
