A heat advisory remains in effect through Saturday night. Temps in the mid-90’s combined with the humidity will make it feel like a blast furnace. With the advisory, comes a higher risk of heat related illnesses for people with prolonged outdoor exposure or without access to air conditioning.
The elderly, small children, and pets are especially susceptible to the heat. The National Weather Service says if you you work or spend time outside, try to reschedule any strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Also, wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.
