A mix of heavy rain and thunderstorms helped ease drought conditions across the area, while severe thunderstorms made for cleanup in parts of northern Indiana.
Since last Thursday night, areas west of State Road 15 in Kosciusko County picked up over four inches of rain, with isolated higher amounts, while areas in the east saw between 2 to 4 inches. The highest amounts were seen in areas of Elkhart, Marshall and St. Joseph Counties, where upwards of eight inches of rain was seen.
Several rounds of severe weather also struck on Saturday, bringing widespread wind damage to areas in those same three counties, but the severe thunderstorms spared Kosciusko County. Two tornadoes were reported in Indiana on Friday afternoon, an EF-1 east of Lafayette and an EF-0 south of Logansport.
More rain is predicted in on an off fashion throughout the week, with more chances for heavy rain both today and tomorrow.
