HIP 2.0 Showing Positive Results For Indiana

The expanded version of the Hoosier State's Healthy Indiana Plan is showing positive results so far. In January, federal officials expanded the approved enhancements to the Healthy Indiana Plan into a larger program that Governor Mike Pence referred to as “HIP 2.0”.  It included the use of federal Medicaid funds under the President's Health Care Law to cover Hoosiers with incomes under 138 percent of the federal poverty level. State enrollment in HIP 2.0 is nearing 290 thousand participants, and health care industry officials say the program has functioned smoothly in the six months since it was implemented. In fact, Indiana is getting requests from other states on how the state is making the program work.
