Kosciusko County Community Foundation has provided a grant for $1,000 to the Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry 2014 Meat Donation Program. The grant will pay all processing fees for donated meat in Kosciusko County, which is then distributed to area hunger relief agencies. According to Feeding Indiana’s Hungry, over 30 percent of all Indiana residents regularly have to choose between buying food and paying bills. Hoosiers Feeding the Hungry encourages hunters and farmers to donate large game and livestock to one of their participating butchers to be processed, picked up by local hunger relief agencies and distributed within the community in which it was donated and where funding is available.
