Cleveland, Washington and Richland township fire departments responded to a structure fire at 224 S. State St., South Whitley, Friday. Cleveland firefighters were called out at 7:37 p.m., with a request for Washington to respond at 8:12 p.m. with two pumpers and manpower, followed by a request for assistance from Richland at 8:54 p.m. The house is owned by Michelle Caudill, Warsaw. It is unknown what caused the fire as of press time or whether anyone was living in the house. Flames continued to shoot through the roof at 9 p.m.
