A Kosciusko County hunter is in the hospital after falling from a tree stand Tuesday night. According to a press release, 67-year-old Richard Dixon of Warsaw finished hunting and tried to climb down from his tree stand. That's when the sand collapsed and he fell to the ground. Dixon used his cell phone to call for help and police were able to locate him in the area of 1200 North and 400 East around 6:30 p.m. Dixon was transported to Lutheran Hospital with serious injuries. Indiana Conservation Officers say he was not wearing a safety harness. There have now been a total of six falls from tree stands in Indiana during the month of October.
