Police officers will be out on the roads this holiday weekend to make sure you buckle up as part of the 2017 Click It or Ticket campaign.
Additional officers will be working overtime on the lookout for people without seat belts, and they will be giving out tickets. They’re urging everyone to wear their seat belts not only to prevent getting a ticket, but also to prevent loss of life.
WNDU reports more than 9,800 people killed nationwide in 2015 were not wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
The Kosciusko County Traffic Safety Partnership police agencies are among those participating in the increased seat belt enforcement. The Click It or Ticket campaign continues through June 4.
