Indiana’s Medicaid director will resign early next year.
Cora Steinmetz took the position in August 2023, and within a few months reported to a committee of state lawmakers that the state’s Medicaid funding was experiencing a billion dollars shortfall.
The Indiana Medicaid program is the state and federally funded public health insurance for low-income Hoosiers.
Family and Social Services Administration Secretary Dr. Dan Rusyniak praised Steinmetz for her leadership at such a critical time.
