Indiana Named 3rd Most Business-Friendly State In America

Indiana has been named the third most business-friendly state in America. That's UP, from number 7 last year and from number 23 in 2010. The group “Pollina” co-published the ranking with the American Economic Development Institute. They examined 32 factors that are controlled by state government, including taxes, human resources, education, right-to-work legislation, energy costs, infrastructure spending, workers compensation laws and state economic development efforts.  Governor Pence reacted positively to the survey, saying Indiana continues to garner national recognition as the best place to do business. However, he says as long as Hoosiers are struggling to make ends meet, the work is not done. Among Indiana’s neighboring states, Michigan ranked 10th, Ohio ranked 20th, Kentucky ranked 28th and Illinois ranked 47th.
